Memberships/Honors/Awards/Accreditations:
Fellowship in the College is an honor. Being a FACP is a distinction earned from colleagues who recognize your accomplishments and achievements over and above the practice of medicine. The most important considerations for the ACP Fellowship are excellence and contributions to medicine and the broader community in which the doctor lives and practices.
Alpha Omega Alpha, founded in 1902, is the national medical honor society. Election to Alpha Omega Alpha is an honor signifying a lasting commitment to professionalism, leadership, scholarship, research, and community service. A lifelong honor, membership in the society confers recognition for a physician’s dedication to the profession and art of healing. More than fifty Nobel Prize winners in Physiology, Medicine, and Chemistry have been AOA members. More than thirty of those were elected to AOA before winning the Nobel Prize.
