How We Operate – Personalized Care Through a Micropractice Model

At Tulsa Gastrointestinal Consultants, we proudly operate as a Micropractice — an owner-operated medical practice designed to put patients first. This means more time with your doctor, fewer corporate barriers, and care that’s personalized, compassionate, and rooted in trust.

Dr. Dushyant Singh chose this model to ensure he has the freedom to make the best decisions with his patients — not according to corporate policies or external quotas. Micropractices allow for stronger patient relationships, continuity of care, and a genuine sense of connection between physician and patient.

Our model isn’t just better for our patients — it allows us to balance life and medicine, so we can show up fully present for both our patients and our families.

WHO WE ARE

Tulsa Gastrointestinal Consultants offers compassionate, expert digestive care led by Dr. Dushyant Singh, a board-certified gastroenterologist who believes in treating the whole person — not just the symptoms. With special interests in gut-brain health, nutrition, and preventive care, we deliver leading-edge diagnostics like colonoscopy, endoscopy, and GI cancer screenings with a personalized touch.

Dr. Singh is widely respected for his clinical excellence, wholistic philosophy, and deep commitment to patient well-being. At TGiC, you’re not just another case file — you’re a valued partner in your own healing.

WHAT WE DO

We provide comprehensive digestive care — from common concerns like heartburn, bloating, gastritis, change in bowel habits (constipation/diarrhea) and IBS to complex conditions involving the liver, pancreas, or colon. Answers to Your GI Health Questions

Our Gastroenterologist at Tulsa Gastrointestinal Consultants Have Answers

What should I bring to my first visit?
To help us provide the best care possible, please bring: (A) Current list of medications and dosages, (B) Any supplements, herbs, or vitamins you take, (C) Relevant medical records (including operative reports, pathology results, labs, and hospital discharge summaries), (D) If you’re coming for a second opinion, it’s helpful to bring a summary of your symptoms, when they began, how they’ve changed, and any previous treatments or diagnoses. It is also helpful to have your valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license) along with insurance card.
When should I have my first colonoscopy?

Per the current screening guidelines, most people should begin screening at age 45. However, African-American individuals are advised to start at age 40.
If you have a family history of colon cancer, begin screening 10 years before your relative’s diagnosis. (Example: If your parent was diagnosed at 48, you should screen at 38.)
Early screening is essential, especially with rising colon cancer rates among younger adults.

What symptoms should I ask my doctor about?

Be proactive – discuss any persistent or unusual symptoms such as:
(A) Abdominal pain
(B) Bloating
(C) Blood in stool
(D) Difficulty swallowing
(E) Chronic heartburn or acid reflux
(F) Irregular bowel movements
